Welcome to the new $5 Dinners Recipes digital magazine. Each week, we'll deliver a new edition with mouth watering photographs and delicious, simple recipes. Now put on your apron and let's get to cooking!
I've been on the road this past week, spending 4 days in Los Angeles for the Favado App Launch parties; followed by 4 days in St. Louis at the FinCon, personal finance bloggers conference. We've been sharing the Favado App with everyone we know and the response has been amazing!
While in St. Louis, I had a lovely taste of Fall. I love living back in San Antonio, but I do miss the fall weather, the leaves turning colors, the crisp morning air and the warmth from the sun as it tries to reheat things. It's still hot and humid back in San Antonio, and my hair isn't looking forward to going back into frizz-o mode.
Anywhooo...This taste of fall is what inspired this Pumpkin themed digital magazine this week. We have our most popular pumpkin recipes included this week, from the Pumpkin Pie French Toast to the Pasta Casserole you see on the cover to a homemade pumpkin pie spice mix.
Now you can enjoy a taste of fall this week, to go along with the weather, sights and smells that come with the season. Happy Autumn from St. Louis!

1/2 teaspoon rosemary
1 cup cheese
Extra sliced onions and parsley (optional)
It's Pumpkin Week! And, you can't celebrate pumpkins without at least talking about making your own pumpkin puree! My favorite method is the easiest one (of course!) - cook it in the slow cooker! And, once you've had homemade pumpkin, you won't want to go back to canned...

I have a little problem. I can not make a meal for my family that costs more than $5. My mind is filled with prices on my favorite ingredients, and frugal recipes that can be made for less than 5 bucks. It’s unnatural, really. But, my pocketbook thanks me!
